The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has reported a significant increase in UPI ticket payments from September to December 2025. Passengers are increasingly using digital platforms like PhonePe and Google Pay for cashless bus travel, with over 62.59 lakh tickets sold via UPI in December, generating Rs 83.67 crore in revenue. MSRTC officials attribute this rise to the convenience of digital transactions, improved transparency, and reduced cash-handling disputes.
