The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has asked the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to intervene in a dispute with Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL), an Adani Group-owned entity. COAI alleges NMIAL is denying Right of Way (RoW) permissions for telecom infrastructure and imposing exorbitant charges for mandatory use of its own network. NMIAL denies these claims, stating it is providing free Wi-Fi, has procured IBS infrastructure after discussions, and accuses telcos of seeking 'cartelisation' on rates.
