The Indian government has extended the deadline for submitting new applications under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for textiles until March 31, 2026. This extension follows a significant response since the application portal reopened in August 2025, with proposals focusing on man-made fabrics, apparel, and technical textiles. The scheme, approved in September 2021 with a Rs 10,683 crore outlay, aims to boost domestic production and exports, with over 90 companies already selected and significant job creation reported.
