A National Foundation for American Policy report indicates the U.S. unemployment rate for all workers rose from 4.1% to 4.6% between January and November 2025. The unemployment rate for U.S.-born workers also increased from 3.9% to 4.3% during the same period. Concurrently, the foreign-born labor force has seen a significant decline, with a drop of 1.1 million workers since January 2025. The report suggests that U.S.-born workers have not re-entered the labor market in response to this withdrawal.
