The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has launched a Rs 9.45 crore project to upgrade the ageing power distribution network in Lodhi Colony Government Flats. The initiative addresses increased electricity demand, rising from 1 KW per household in the 1960s to 5-10 KW per flat today. The project includes installing 40 SCADA-compatible smart feeder pillars and laying over 28 km of cables to improve voltage stability, reduce outages, and enhance supply efficiency. The foundation stone was laid by Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma and MP Bansuri Swaraj.
