Over 1.17 Lakh Employers and 1.03 Crore Employees Register Under ESIC's SPREE Scheme

The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) reported that 1.17 lakh new employers and 1.03 crore employees have registered under the Scheme to Promote Registration of Employers Employees (SPREE), active from July 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026. The scheme allows unregistered employers and employees to join the ESI framework without retrospective coverage or penalties. Following requests from stakeholders, the registration period was briefly extended in January 2026 to facilitate digital enrollment through multiple portals.
