Mercedes-Benz India Starts Local Production of Maybach GLS, Plans 12 New Launches in 2026

Mercedes-Benz India has begun local production of the ultra-luxury Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV in Pune, becoming the first market outside the US to do so. This move aims to meet rising demand and reduce prices from Rs 3.17 crore to Rs 2.75 crore. Despite a 3% sales decline to 19,007 units in 2025 amid currency volatility and competitive pressures, the company recorded its highest revenue, driven by growth in top-end and electric vehicle segments. Mercedes-Benz plans 12 new launches in 2026, including the all-new CLA EV and expanded electric vehicle services.
