Housing loans saw a 12 percent year-on-year increase as of December 2025, influenced by a 125 basis point cut in the RBI repo rate. Borrowers under 30 now represent 16% of new home loans, up from 9% in 2022, attributed to stable incomes and better credit access. The average home loan ticket size has also grown to approximately Rs 37 lakh. Personal loans increased by 35 percent, with short-term loans seeing a significant rise, indicating their use for liquidity rather than consumption.
