Cochin Shipyard Begins Construction of Two 70-Tonne Bollard Pull Tugs for Polestar Maritime

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a public sector shipbuilding organization, held a steel-cutting ceremony for two 70-tonne bollard pull tugs for Polestar Maritime Limited in Kochi. The tugs, designed by Robert Allan Limited, will measure 33 meters in length and be powered by engines from Niigata IHI Power Systems. CSL currently has orders for 17 ASTDS tugs and six green tugs, including two under the Government of India's Green Tug Transition Programme, aiming to support sustainable maritime development.
