Ola Electric Obtains Regulatory Approval for Commercial Electric Scooter Launch
Ola Electric has received regulatory approval from the Automotive Research Association of India for a new electric scooter targeting India's commercial mobility market. Based on the S1 platform, the L1-category scooter features a 4-kilowatt motor with a top speed of about 70 km/h and is designed for delivery and fleet operations. The approval suggests a near-term commercial launch amid rising fuel prices and supportive policies like Delhi's draft EV Policy 2026, which aims to phase out new petrol two-wheelers within two years, accelerating electric fleet adoption.
