Sumesh Achuthan, chairperson of Chittur-Thattamangalam municipality, has been elected as a director of the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Ltd (IFFCO). He will represent Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry on the 21-member board. Achuthan, representing the Thattamangalam Service Cooperative Bank, is one of the few from Kerala to serve on the board of the large cooperative fertilizer producer that serves 5.5 crore farmers nationwide.
