Cochin Shipyard Delivers First Multi-Purpose Vessel to German Shipping Firm

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) delivered the first Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV), named MS Heinz, to Germany's HS Schiffahrts UG on January 12. Designed by Groot Ship Design, Netherlands, the 7,000 DWT ice-class vessel can carry diverse cargoes including heavy goods, containers, and dry bulk for global trade. This delivery marks a significant milestone in CSL's expansion into international commercial shipbuilding, with eight vessels ordered at approximately Rs 110 crore each.
