Adani Green Energy Surpasses 20 GW Operational Renewable Energy Capacity in India
Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has surpassed 20 gigawatts (GW) of operational renewable energy capacity, becoming the first Indian company to reach this milestone primarily through greenfield development. The portfolio includes about 14.2 GW of solar, 2.7 GW of wind, and 3.3 GW of wind-solar hybrid capacity, along with 3.55 GWh of battery storage. AGEL generates over 52 billion units annually, accounting for nearly 3% of India's electricity consumption. The company added 5,051 MW in FY26, marking the highest annual renewable capacity addition outside China. This achievement supports India's energy security and clean energy transition goals.
