Bahadurgarh Footwear Industry Faces Production Drop Amid Raw Material Shortages

The Bahadurgarh footwear hub, India's largest non-leather footwear production center with over 2,500 units, has seen production drop by nearly 50% due to rising raw material costs and supply disruptions linked to the US-Iran conflict. Raw material prices have increased by 50-70%, with shortages of polyester thread and LPG supply reductions affecting manufacturing. Exports, mainly to Gulf and African countries, have halted, impacting orders worth around Rs 500 crore. Industry representatives warn of potential unit closures if conditions persist and urge government support.
