
The Numaligarh Refinery Ltd's capacity expansion project in Assam is expected to cost nearly Rs 34,000 crore, up by about Rs 5,900 crore from the initial Rs 28,026 crore. The brownfield project aims to triple refining capacity from 3 to 9 million metric tonnes per annum and is 85% complete, targeting completion by December 2026. The proposal for budget enhancement is under active review by the Public Investment Board. The project also includes extensive pipeline and storage infrastructure upgrades.
