The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a pilot project on the Jaipur-Agra and Jaipur-Rewari corridors to send real-time alerts about stray cattle movement to highway users. In partnership with Reliance Jio, commuters receive location-based Flash SMS and voice alerts approximately 10 km before high-risk zones to enhance safety, especially during low visibility. Alerts are issued in Hindi and limited to one per 30 minutes to avoid fatigue. This initiative complements broader road safety measures including speed enforcement and infrastructure improvements.
