Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, handled 64.026 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo from April 2025 to February 2026, surpassing last fiscal year's total of 63.951 MMT with one month remaining. This 10.95% year-on-year growth was driven by improved operational efficiency and stakeholder coordination. The Kolkata Dock System and Haldia Dock Complex recorded cargo increases of 13.48% and 10.06%, respectively. Container traffic also reached record levels. However, tensions in West Asia may affect trade in March.
