
Ludhiana police reported a significant increase in anti-drug operations this year, registering 719 cases under the NDPS Act and arresting 1,250 drug traffickers. This marks a substantial rise from 246 cases and 332 arrests in the previous year. Authorities seized large quantities of various narcotics, including heroin, opium, and poppy husk, along with significant drug money. The police also took action against licensed outlets involved in drug trafficking and focused on dismantling organized drug networks.
