Coimbatore police have established a new checkpost near Walayar on the Salem-Kochi Highway to curb the transport of illegal goods. Inaugurated on Monday, the facility features 12 cameras, alcohol and speed testing equipment, and a direct link to the district control room. The checkpost aims to enhance border security and prevent illicit movement into the state.
