The Supreme Court has stayed a Delhi High Court order that had overturned the life sentence of former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the Unnao rape case. The CBI had challenged the High Court's decision. The case involves allegations that Sengar raped a minor in June 2017 after she sought work at his residence. The survivor claims she was confined and threatened, while Sengar's defense asserts he was in Kanpur at the time. The CBI also alleged Sengar used his influence to obstruct an FIR and harm the survivor's family.
