A retired 85-year-old Army officer, Lieutenant General Kulwant Singh Mann, died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle during his evening walk in Panchkula on Friday. He was taken to the Command Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Police are investigating the hit-and-run, reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding areas as the accident site lacked cameras. A case has been registered, and a post-mortem is pending his son's return from abroad. Mann was from a military family and had a distinguished career.
