Odisha Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) arrested Amit Mandal, the prime accused in a Rs 40-crore investment fraud, from Bankura, West Bengal. Mandal allegedly induced around 600 investors from Odisha and West Bengal to invest in share trading with promises of high returns. He reportedly collected over Rs 120 crore, failing to return approximately Rs 40 crore to investors after initially paying returns and then disappearing.
