An undertrial prisoner, identified as Vire (35), died on Monday after complaining of severe stomach pain in Kaushambi district jail, Uttar Pradesh. He was lodged in jail since June 11 in connection with an attempt-to-murder case. Jail officials stated he received treatment within the jail premises but his condition worsened, leading to his death en route to the district hospital. His family and police have been notified, and a post-mortem examination is being conducted.
