A doctor in Lucknow was defrauded of ₹2.9 lakh by individuals posing as police officers. The fraudsters contacted the doctor, claiming to have objectionable material and threatening legal action. Fearing arrest and public humiliation, the doctor transferred money online in multiple tranches to different bank accounts. An FIR has been registered, and authorities are investigating to trace the callers and recover the funds.
