Delhi Woman Escapes Attempted Assault by Taxi Driver Near Nainital; Driver Arrested

A 22-year-old Delhi woman traveling alone from Haldwani to Nainital alleged that her taxi driver, reportedly intoxicated, attempted to sexually assault her near Patwadangar. She escaped by fleeing into a nearby forest, where she hid overnight. Local residents found her the next morning and alerted police. Authorities registered a case, conducted investigations, and arrested 39-year-old driver Deepak Singh Bora based on CCTV and GPS evidence. The woman received medical treatment, and the taxi was seized.
