
Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, chairman of Al Falah University, following complaints by the University Grants Commission (UGC) alleging fraud, forgery, and false accreditation claims. Two FIRs were registered, and Siddiqui was granted four days of police remand for investigation. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also probing money laundering linked to the university and its charitable trust, with assets worth over Rs 140 crore attached. The university drew scrutiny after staff members were linked to the 2025 Red Fort blast case.
