Maharashtra Police have uncovered a pan-India kidney transplant racket with alleged links to Cambodia, preying on economically vulnerable individuals, including farmers. The racket reportedly charged recipients up to Rs 80 lakh while paying donors a fraction, with illegal transplants conducted in India and abroad. Two doctors, one from New Delhi and the managing director of a Trichy hospital, are identified as key figures. The investigation began with a farmer's complaint about being forced to sell a kidney to repay debts.
