Two Ayyappa devotees, K. Kumar (55) and M. Ramki (36), were killed in Theni district when a van carrying pilgrims ran over them on the Dindigul-Kumily highway. The incident occurred early Friday morning near Chinnamanur as the group of eight devotees from Andipatti were walking towards Sabarimala. The van, also carrying devotees, was en route to Sabarimala from Dindigul. Chinnamanur police have arrested the van driver and are investigating the accident.
