Two Arrested in Manipur for Smuggling 24 Protected Ibex from Myanmar

Security forces in Manipur's Tengnoupal district arrested two individuals for allegedly smuggling 24 Ibex, wild mountain goats protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, from Myanmar. The vehicle carrying the animals was intercepted during a special operation based on intelligence inputs. The accused, identified as Md Kalim and Md Sabir Khan, along with the rescued Ibex and the vehicle, were handed over to the Forest Department. Ibex are known for their agility and are native to high-altitude regions across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
