In Chandauli district, Uttar Pradesh, railway police recovered Rs 1.75 crore in cash from two Lucknow residents, Ritesh (38) and Prignesh (40), traveling to Kolkata on the Akal Takht Express. The youths were found behaving suspiciously, and their bags contained bundles of Rs 500 notes. They claimed the money was from their diamond and jewellery business but could not provide clear documentation. Authorities suspect the cash may be linked to hawala and may involve the Income Tax Department if documents are not submitted.
