
A man fatally stabbed nine people, including five children, in Suriname's capital, Paramaribo, and surrounding areas. The victims included the attacker's four children and neighbors who intervened. The suspect, reportedly suffering from mental health issues and having had a phone argument with his wife, was shot and injured by police during his arrest. He later died by suicide in a police cell. Two others, a sixth child and an adult, were seriously injured and hospitalized. The President expressed shock and condolences.
