
In 2025, Delhi Police arrested over 130 individuals, including travel agents, in a nationwide crackdown on visa and passport fraud. This operation, a first of its kind, involved financial investigations leading to the freezing of over 100 bank accounts and asset attachment proceedings against accused agents. Authorities also issued 140 lookout circulars to prevent absconding offenders from leaving the country and arrested 119 proclaimed offenders. The crackdown extended to touting and baggage theft, with significant numbers of arrests made in these areas as well.
