Panchkula Police Arrest Auto Driver in Hit-and-Run Death of Retired Lt Gen Mann

Panchkula police arrested Om Prakash, an auto-rickshaw driver from Rajasthan, for a hit-and-run incident on January 9 that fatally injured retired Lieutenant General Kulwant Singh Mann. Lt Gen Mann was struck while walking near his residence and died the following day at Chandimandir Command Hospital. The police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and used CCTV footage and mobile tracking to identify the accused. Authorities plan to enhance road safety through increased patrolling and installation of surveillance equipment.
