An elderly woman, identified as 65-year-old Mary, was discovered charred to death in the compound of her Vandanmedu, Idukki residence on Sunday. Her son reported her missing around 12:45 am, after which her body was found. Police are investigating the incident as an unnatural death, with preliminary findings suggesting possible self-immolation. The body has been sent for a postmortem examination.
