FIR Filed After Infant's Finger Partially Severed During IV Removal in Bengaluru Hospital

A six-month-old infant at Bengaluru's Chinmaya Mission Hospital suffered a partial severing of his left little finger during IV drip removal on February 24, the day of discharge. The nurse allegedly used scissors incorrectly, causing the injury. The baby was treated in the emergency ward and ICU. The parents filed a complaint alleging medical negligence, leading to an FIR against the nurse, treating doctor, and hospital management. Police are investigating under Section 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
