Six-Month-Old Baby's Finger Partially Severed During IV Removal at Bengaluru Hospital

A six-month-old infant at Bengaluru's Chinmaya Mission Hospital suffered a partial severing of the little finger on the left hand during IV drip removal on February 24. The injury occurred amid discharge formalities when a nurse allegedly mishandled scissors. The baby was immediately treated in the emergency ward and ICU. The parents have filed an FIR against the nurse, treating doctor, and hospital management, alleging medical negligence. Police are investigating under Section 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
