Mumbai Boy Allegedly Assaulted After Attempted Kite Theft in Byculla

In Mumbai's Byculla area, a 10-year-old boy was allegedly stripped, tied to a metal grill, beaten, and burned with a lighter after being caught attempting to steal kites from a shop. The incident occurred on January 14, 2026, near Imamwada Police Lines. Police have registered an FIR against the shop owner Mukim Amir Hasan Khan, 58, Salman Abdul Majid Hawa, 30, and two unidentified individuals. The boy's mother reported the assault, and charges under multiple sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita have been filed.
