Two Outsourced Staff Arrested for Posing as GST Officers and Extorting Money in Bengaluru

Two outsourced housekeeping staff at the Central Government GST office in Bengaluru were arrested for impersonating GST intelligence officers and extorting Rs 5 lakh from a trader. They created fake identity cards and threatened the trader with legal action to coerce payment. The fraud was uncovered after GST officials noticed suspicious activity and filed a complaint. The accused confessed their motive was quick money, and police are investigating possible accomplices and other victims.
