In Maharashtra's Thane district, a 25-year-old tribal man, Subhash Shinwar Bhoir, was allegedly abducted and tortured by a brick kiln owner, Nandu Deolikar, and his associate. The accused reportedly detained Bhoir while searching for his brother, who owed Rs 50,000 to the kiln owner. Bhoir was tied, hung upside down from a tree, and had chili powder rubbed into his wounds before escaping overnight. A police case has been registered, but no arrests have been made.
