Andaman Tribal Home Guards Recognized for Methamphetamine Seizure

Police in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands honored two home guard volunteers from the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) for recovering approximately 6.9 kg of methamphetamine from a remote jungle near Pagla Mundi on January 16. DGP Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal praised their role, highlighting their local knowledge and participation as key to the seizure. The volunteers received cash rewards and commendation certificates, marking the first major narcotics recovery involving PVTG members.
