A US teenager, Christian Sturdivant, was reportedly planning an "ISIS-inspired" attack on New Year's Eve using knives and hammers, according to an FBI investigation. He allegedly intended to wear a Kevlar vest and target a grocery store and fast food restaurant. Sturdivant had previously been flagged in 2022 for contact with a suspected IS member and was instructed to carry out attacks with a hammer. He was reportedly stopped by his grandfather while attempting an attack with a hammer and knife.
