In Raigad, police have arrested nine individuals, including rival Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate Urmila Devkar, for the murder of Mangesh Kalokhe, husband of newly elected Shiv Sena councillor Mansi Kalokhe. Devkar lost to Mansi Kalokhe in recent municipal polls. The police allege Kalokhe was attacked with weapons by Devkar and others while returning home. Kalokhe's family claims they had informed police about threats from NCP rivals, but no action was taken. The NCP district president, named as wanted, denies involvement, citing an alibi.
