
In Maharashtra's Latur district, teacher Ujjwal Prakash Soni was arrested for allegedly beating 30-32 minor students with a bamboo stick over suspicion of motorcycle damage at Christ International School's hostel on February 21. Some students were injured, and Soni reportedly threatened them, claiming he would become principal. Following a complaint by the school principal, police registered a case under relevant laws. Soni was later granted bail, and a detailed inquiry by education authorities is underway with a draft report pending.
