Telangana Police has introduced a citizen-centric system allowing FIRs to be registered at the victim's residence or chosen location for seven categories of sensitive crimes, including offences against women and children, POCSO, and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Acts. This initiative, starting January 27, aims to support victims who may be vulnerable or unable to visit police stations, ensuring prompt complaint registration and safeguarding their dignity and access to justice. Police officers will record complaints on-site and secure evidence as needed.
