Violence and Protests Follow Youth Killing in Assam's Kokrajhar District

Violence erupted in Assam's Kokrajhar district after the killing of youth Sikhna Jwhwlao Bismit, who was allegedly beaten to death during a clash between two groups. Another individual, Sunil Murmu, died from injuries sustained in subsequent protests. Demonstrators blocked the Karigaon stretch of the National Highway, disrupting traffic and daily life. Protesters reportedly set fire to two Birsa Commando Force camps, vandalised the Sidu Kanhu Bhawan, and damaged shops. Authorities deployed security forces and suspended mobile internet to control the unrest.
