
The Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) reported 244 drug seizures and detected 84 sub-standard medicines in 2025, with a total seizure value of ₹1.39 crore. The agency conducted over 28,000 inspections, identifying violations in 5,278 cases. Misleading advertisements led to the most seizures, followed by cases involving unauthorized practitioners and unlicensed medical shops. The DCA also analyzed nearly 5,000 drug samples, initiating action against manufacturers of sub-standard products.
