Chittoor district reported a 26% decrease in overall crime in 2025, with 5,216 cases compared to 7,034 in 2024. The Superintendent of Police attributed this decline to enhanced community policing, focused enforcement, and technology use. Crimes against women dropped by 12.63%, economic offences by 21.65%, and cybercrime by over 40%. Property crime also saw a decrease, with a significant rise in recovery rates for stolen goods and mobile phones, and substantial refunds to cyber fraud victims.
