A five-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the suicide of Uttarakhand farmer Sukhwant Singh, who allegedly shot himself on January 10 in Haldwani. Before his death, Singh posted a video accusing property dealers and police officials of cheating him in a land deal and neglecting his complaints. The police have suspended and transferred 12 personnel linked to the case to ensure an impartial probe. The Congress party has demanded further action, including suspension of the district SSP and a CBI investigation. Authorities have pledged a thorough inquiry and legal action based on findings.
