Mangaluru City Police conducted drug tests and inspections at hostels and PG accommodations on December 30-31, ahead of New Year's Eve celebrations. This initiative, following reports of drug supply for parties, included voluntary and mandated testing for substances like MDMA and cannabis. One individual was arrested for alleged possession of 50 grams of MDMA. Udupi police also enhanced surveillance at various venues and utilized drone cameras to prevent illegal activities during celebrations.
