Police Detain 81 at Ahmedabad Anniversary Party for Alleged Liquor Violation in Dry State

Gujarat police raided a 25th wedding anniversary party at a villa near Ahmedabad, detaining 81 people—43 men arrested and 38 women served notices and released—for allegedly consuming liquor in the dry state. The event, organised by a Mumbai-based man, included prominent professionals and featured luxury items such as foreign liquor, hookahs, 22 cars, and mobile phones valued at around Rs 2.3–2.9 crore. Blood samples were sent for testing, and investigations under the Gujarat Prohibition Act and Narcotic Drugs Act are ongoing.
